A pool playing dog
- you're
pulling my paw right?
His name is "Blue" and he's been likened to "Hurricanine Higgins" but the only black stuff you'll find Blue sinking is the black ball on a pool table. But Blue is no ordinary pool player. Instead he's an extraordinary dog with a tale (pardon the pun!) so inspiring he'll make you want to dust down your pool cue from the attic and sink a few balls.
Blue arrived at the Davies household in Shropshire from a kennel for abandoned dogs approx 10 years ago when he was a 6 week old pup and he's been following his master, Mr Jeff Davies, around ever since at his local watering hole, fine-tuning his pool skills to get to the top of his game in this dog eat dog world. Blue realised from an early age that mimicry is everything and as he watched his master in action he became an ardent "copycat" (sorry Blue) wasting no time exhibiting his new found skills ensuring that he clawed his way from the kennels to become the country's unofficial crowned dog-champion of the green baize earning him the right to partner his master in all games.
Blue shows off his unbelievable pool prowess by resting on his hind legs whilst potting the balls with his nifty paws, and when I spoke to Mr Davies over the phone, I could actually hear Blue scratching to get at the pool table for his next shot. Must be the sound of all those balls clunking down the pockets!
But like most of us Blue went through a few phases before concentrating full-time on his niche and alongside his unrivalled expertise as a champion pool player he has also enjoyed a short-lived reign as top-dog of the darts circuit, having been forced into early retirement though due to the fact he could no longer reach the board to get his darts back!! Bully for Blue!
When Blue isn't indulging in his favourite past-time he's earning a crust helping Mr Davies out at his work as a building contractor where his unofficial duties include digging and chasing and barking at anything that moves, in particular large noisy diggers!
Blue is now revelling in his new found celebrity status and has even agreed to challenge Philip Schofield from ITV's "This Morning" to a round of pool, partnered by his obedient master Mr Davies of course.
Here at inspirationaldogs.com, we think you'll agree Blue is amazing and we are delighted that his owner Mr Davies and his son Scott shared their story with us so we could share it with you.
See you next month with a fabulously inspiring pooch!
